About Hrnomica Advisory LLC

A small, independent practice with a single focus: helping large organizations make people work flow better.

Hrnomica Advisory LLC is an independent consulting practice based in Boston, Massachusetts. We work with large corporations across the United States on the practical problems of workforce productivity: how work is organized, how managers are equipped, how people data is used, and how engagement is maintained at scale. We are deliberately small, because our model depends on senior attention rather than leverage.

Why we exist

We started Hrnomica because we kept seeing the same pattern in large organizations. Capable people, working hard, slowed down by structures nobody had revisited in years. Tangled handoffs. Unclear ownership. Managers promoted for expertise and left to learn leadership alone. The work of untangling that is not glamorous, but it is where a great deal of lost productivity actually lives. We built a practice around it.

What we believe

  • Productivity is a design problem. Fix the structure and much of the motivation follows.
  • Managers are the unit of change. If a change does not work for frontline managers, it does not work.
  • Evidence over assertion. We describe what we observed and we say when the data is thin.
  • Capability stays with the client. Our goal is to leave your team stronger, not dependent on us.
  • Honesty over agreement. If our work is not the right fit, we say so.

How we are organized

Our practice follows the pipeline you see in the navigation: Advisory, People, Platforms, and Firm. Advisory covers diagnosis and operating model design. People covers the management, analytics, engagement, and learning work that makes a model real. Platforms holds our independent field notes on widely used workforce software. Firm covers who we are and how to reach us. Clients typically enter at whichever stage matches their current problem and move along the pipeline as the work develops.

Who we serve

We work with upper-mid-market and enterprise organizations, typically between two thousand and sixty thousand employees. Our clients are multi-site employers, professional services firms, manufacturers, healthcare organizations, insurers, and other complex enterprises. They tend to have grown through acquisition, accumulated many systems, and reached a point where informal coordination no longer scales.

Our independence

We do not accept payment for the platform opinions we publish, and we are not affiliated with any software vendor. Our field notes reflect our own view and are labelled as such. Independence matters to us because our advice has to be worth trusting when it is inconvenient.

How we staff engagements

We keep our engagements senior and small. The person who scopes the work is the person who delivers it, and there is no layer of junior staff between you and the analysis. Where an engagement needs additional hands, we bring in specialists we have worked with before and who share our standards. This approach limits how many clients we can serve at once, and we accept that limit rather than dilute the work.

How we measure our own work

We hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of clients. After every engagement we review what worked, what did not, and whether the client's team is genuinely stronger for the effort. We ask clients directly whether the change survived contact with a busy quarter. That feedback shapes how we scope the next engagement, and it keeps us honest about what our method can and cannot achieve.
